Business Card QR Code: Get Saved in Contacts Instantly

A QR code on a business card lets people save your details to their phone without typing. You can encode a vCard with your name, number and email, or a link to an online profile. Generate a print-ready vector file here and place it on your card design.

vCard or link: which to choose

  • vCard: the contact is saved directly, even offline, but it cannot be changed after printing.
  • Website link: points to a profile page you can update, but needs internet and an extra tap to save.
  • For most cards, a compact vCard with name, mobile, email, company and website is the practical choice.
  • A LinkedIn profile code suits networking events where people connect online anyway.

Fitting a QR code on a small card

A standard card is about 85 by 55 mm, so space is tight. A vCard with five or six fields still scans well at about 2 to 2.5 cm wide if you keep the quiet zone clear. Drop the postal address and notes if the code looks too dense. Place it on the back with a short line such as Scan to save contact, and keep the most important details printed as text on the front.

Print-ready files

Export as SVG or PDF and send the vector file to your designer or print shop; vector files stay sharp at any resolution, unlike a screenshot. If you use brand colours, keep the code clearly darker than the card stock. Gold foil, embossing and spot UV look elegant but can reflect light, so ask for a proof and scan it before the full run.

Ordering cards for a team? Load a CSV of names in the Print tab to create one code per person.

How to make it

  1. Open Create and choose Contact (vCard).
  2. Enter the details you want on the card and keep optional fields to a minimum.
  3. Match the colours to your card design and confirm the scan test passes.
  4. Export SVG or PDF and place the code on your card layout at 2 cm or more.

Frequently asked questions

How big should a QR code be on a business card?

Around 2 to 2.5 cm wide is a safe range for a short vCard. Denser codes with many fields need more space.

What happens if my phone number changes?

A vCard code keeps the old number, so you would print new cards. A link to a profile page you control avoids this.

Can I add my logo inside the QR code?

Yes. The app raises error correction automatically and tests the result, but on a small card a logo makes the code denser, so keep it small.
