Restaurant Menu QR Code for Tables and Windows
A menu QR code on each table opens your current menu on the guest’s phone. Link it to a menu page on your own website and you can update dishes and prices any time without reprinting. Design a branded table card here and print it for free.
Web page or PDF?
A mobile-friendly web page loads faster and reads better on a small screen than a large PDF, and it can be updated at the same address. If you use a PDF, compress it, keep one page per section and upload new versions under the same file name so the link never changes. In both cases, the QR code only contains the link, so the address must stay stable.
Table card essentials
- Print the code at least 3 cm wide so it scans from a seated position.
- Add a frame with clear text such as Scan for menu, plus your logo.
- Use matte paper or a matte laminate to avoid glare from ceiling lights.
- Offer printed menus too; not every guest has, or wants to use, a smartphone.
- A second code for guest Wi-Fi on the same card is often appreciated.
Protect guests from fake menu codes
Criminals sometimes cover genuine codes with stickers that lead to look-alike payment or login pages. Print codes directly onto cards or use sealed holders, and check them regularly. Your menu should never ask guests to log in or enter card details just to view it. Tell staff what the correct domain looks like so they can help a guest who is unsure.
How to make it
- Publish your menu at a stable address on your own domain.
- Open Create, choose Website and paste the menu link.
- Add your logo, brand colours and a frame with Scan for menu.
- Export a PDF or SVG, print a test card and scan it from a chair before printing all tables.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to reprint the QR code when my menu changes?
No, as long as the code points to an address you keep. Update the page or replace the PDF at the same link and the printed code shows the new menu.
Is a menu QR code free?
Yes. This generator creates static codes with no subscription and no expiry. You only need your own web page or file hosting for the menu.
Can a QR menu take orders and payments?
The QR code only opens a link. Ordering and payment depend on the system behind that link, such as your POS provider’s online ordering page.
