App Download QR Code for Google Play and App Store

An app QR code sends people straight to your app listing so they can install it without searching. Because a QR code holds only one link, the reliable way to serve both iPhone and Android is a small landing page that detects the device or shows both store badges.

One code, two stores

You can enter a Google Play link (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=...), an App Store link (https://apps.apple.com/app/id...) and a fallback page. A QR code can store just one address, so the generator uses the fallback page when you provide one, otherwise the first store link. The fallback page on your own website can redirect by operating system or simply show both buttons.

Where app codes are useful

  • Product packaging and manuals for companion apps.
  • In-store displays and checkout counters for loyalty apps.
  • Slides and booths at conferences.
  • Onboarding sheets for staff who must install a work app.

Build trust before the scan

Fake app links are a known phishing method, so make your code clearly yours: add your logo, use a frame with Get the app, and show the store badges next to it. Link only to official store listings or your own domain. Avoid link shorteners, which hide the destination and make careful users hesitate.

Test the code on both platforms before printing a large run.

How to make it

  1. Open Create and choose App download.
  2. Paste your Google Play and App Store links, and your own landing page as the fallback.
  3. Add your app icon as the logo and a frame such as Download the app.
  4. Check the scan test, test on an iPhone and an Android phone, then export.

Frequently asked questions

Can one QR code open the right store on iPhone and Android?

Yes, through a landing page you control that detects the device or offers both store links. The QR code itself can only contain one address.

Will the code break if my app is updated?

No. Store listing URLs stay the same across app updates. Only removing the app or changing its package ID would break the link.

Should I link directly to the APK file?

No. Linking to the official store listing is safer for users, and many scanners warn about direct downloads of executable files.
